Privacy policy
Mati Onderhoudsbedrijf handles your personal data with care. In this privacy policy I explain which data I process, why I do so, how long I keep it and what rights you have. I comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who is responsible?
| Company | Mati Onderhoudsbedrijf (sole proprietorship) |
| Owner | Mateusz Majka |
| Location | Vreeswijkstraat, The Hague, the Netherlands |
| Chamber of Commerce (KvK) | 99368978 |
| Phone and WhatsApp | +31 6 86 16 26 64 |
| info@mati-onderhoud.nl |
2. Which data do I process?
I only process data that you give me yourself, for example when you call, send a message or hire me:
- name and contact details (phone number, email address);
- the address where the work is carried out;
- the description of your request and any photos you send;
- details needed for the quote, the job and the invoice;
- for business customers also company name, KvK number and VAT number.
I never ask for special categories of personal data, such as health or religion, nor for your citizen service number (BSN).
3. What do I use your data for?
| Answering your question and preparing a quote | At your request, prior to a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) |
| Planning and carrying out the work | Performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) |
| Invoicing and keeping accounts | Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) |
| Handling complaints and warranty questions | Performance of the contract and legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR) |
| Showing a Google Maps map | Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) |
I do not use your data for advertising and I never sell it to anyone.
4. Contact form and WhatsApp
When you send the contact form, your request with the details you enter (name, phone number, email address, town, type of work, description and any photos) is sent by email to info@mati-onderhoud.nl. Photos are reduced in size in your browser before sending. The website itself does not store your message or photos: the web server only processes them briefly to send the email. To prevent spam and abuse, the web server keeps only an irreversible code (hash) of your IP address, for no longer than one hour. I keep your email as described in section 5.
If you choose the "Prefer WhatsApp" button, WhatsApp opens with a message that you can still edit and send yourself. Photos stay on your own device: on a phone they are passed to WhatsApp via your device's share menu, on a computer you add them yourself in WhatsApp. WhatsApp is a service of WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. (part of Meta); the WhatsApp privacy policy also applies to that data.
5. How long do I keep your data?
- Requests that do not lead to a job: no longer than 12 months after the last contact.
- Quotes, jobs and invoices: 7 years, as required by Dutch tax law.
- Data needed for warranty: for as long as the warranty applies.
6. Who do I share your data with?
I only share your data when necessary:
- with my accountant and the Dutch Tax Administration, for bookkeeping;
- with the hosting provider of this website, STRATO GmbH (Germany), for technical management;
- with WhatsApp, if you choose to contact me via WhatsApp;
- with Google, if you consent to Google Maps (see section 7);
- with authorities where the law requires it.
Your data is not knowingly processed outside the European Economic Area, except when you choose to use WhatsApp or consent to Google Maps.
7. Cookies and external services
This website does not set any tracking cookies itself and does not use analytics software or advertising networks. Like every web server, the hosting provider keeps technical log files (such as IP address and time) for a short period to keep the website secure and available.
On your first visit, a notice asks for your consent to external services. You choose between "Accept" and "Decline"; both choices are equally easy and nothing is pre-selected.
| Necessary: your choice | Your choice is stored in your own browser (localStorage, name "mati-toestemming") and is valid for 12 months, after which you are asked again. No consent is needed for this, as it only serves to remember your choice. |
| External media: Google Maps | Only with your consent. An interactive Google Maps map is then shown in the service area section. Google Ireland Ltd. receives, among other things, your IP address and may set cookies. Data may also be processed in the United States. Google's privacy policy applies (policies.google.com/privacy). Without consent you see a simple map that does not connect to Google. |
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place earlier with consent. Cookies already set by Google can be removed in your browser settings.
8. Security
I take appropriate measures to protect your data, such as a secure connection (https), passwords and limiting the data kept on my phone and computer.
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access your data;
- have incorrect data corrected;
- have your data deleted, unless I am legally required to keep it;
- restrict or object to the processing;
- receive your data in a common format.
Contact me using the details above. I will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with how I handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
10. Changes
I may update this privacy policy. The latest version is always available on this page.
